We would like to thank Cath Garden our judge for the event and sponsor of the class for the beautiful trophy which was co-sponsored by Martin and the team from Trophy Specialists. Martin was instrumental in the repair of 2 damaged trophies on the Friday afternoon before the show. Such is their competancy, that they were able to repair one and rebuild another in record time! Trophy Specialists provide trophies and engraving for the show and we are now delighted that they have given such a lovely trophy for annual competition.

Pictured is the Equine Inspiration class trophy and we are sure that Zoe Herzog ,the inaugural winner has it in pride of place.

We have taken some excerpts from the winners stories for you to enjoy and reflect on. Some are funny, some are sad but all show the tremendous bond between horse and rider. There is a famous quote by Churchill that sums it up rather well.

“There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.”  ~Winston Churchill

“I truly believe that Washington came into my life purely as a teacher. His arrival was a suprise, he accomplished his task and was whisked away again.’  Zoe Herzog

“Sam was used for the Special olympics. I didnt know how he was going to react but he adapted straight away and acted like a fat lazy pony and he quickly became a favourite amongst the athletes” Anna Larsen

“Cocoa is always changing peoples opinions about standardbreds and is living proof that they are more than just a racehorse” Lisa Miller

” A member of a team exclaimed “everyone loves Marj she’s a bit of a legend ” More people for her fan club, more stories to share and more and more appreciation of just how much of an impact this little horse has had on so many people” Caitlin Darrah

“We still have our moments but I feel that she knows me now as I know her and that together we can work most things out” Lesley Martin

Fallon proudly wears one of the beautiful rosettes specially made for the class by Jane and Alan Dear of Quality Presentations.

“I reckon my pony Marlo is an equine inspiration to show that fear can be overcomed by love” Ashleigh McIntyre

“Maia and ‘Mickey’  have shared victories, new mile stones, adventures, laughs and even tears. Their bond is priceless and understanding  this is by far more important than any ribbon she may every win” Charmaine Amos and Maia

Horses can change our lives yet they ask so little.

Thank you to all entrants in the first award of this kind and we look forward to reading some beautiful stories next year.

He knows when you’re happy
He knows when you’re comfortable
He knows when you’re confident
And he always knows when you have carrots.
